Podcast Editor – Part-Time

The Podcast Editor is responsible for the post-production and publishing of podcast episodes. This role includes editing audio, writing show notes, uploading content to the podcast hosting platform, and supporting the overall workflow of each episode.

Role Overview

Title: Podcast Editor
Pay: $13.50/hour
Schedule: Flexible part-time hours (hybrid: remote + occasional coworking sessions)
Location: Hybrid
Training: Paid online course included as part of onboarding

Pay Raise: 3 months. November 14th

What You’ll Do

#1. Edit Podcast Episodes

  • Listen to the entire podcast and determine – does it make sense, or does it not (and needs to be redone)
  • Cut filler words like “um” and “uh”
  • Clean up the gaps where there is no words; just air

#2. Create Show Notes Using Descript

  • Write a short summary of each episode using descript.com (does it automatically)

#4. Upload to Buzzsprout

  • Add show notes + What You’ll Learn
  • Add the links
  • Fill in the “Season” and “Session”
  • Schedule the podcast (date it will go live)

Learn Podcasting Tools

  • You’ll use audio editing software Descript
  • You’ll learn Buzzsprout – it pushes out the podcast episode automatically

Udemy: Pineapple Podcast Course

  • As you go through the course, ask yourself, what are way to make the podcast better
  • During our weekly meeting, do tell what I’m missing

Record Voiceovers

  • Record short segments:
    • Podcast intro
    • Commercial
    • Podcast outro
  • Scripts and coaching provided

What You’ll Learn

  • How to edit audio and improve sound quality
  • How to write clear, helpful show notes
  • How to upload and manage podcast content in Buzzsprout
  • How to record voiceover segments with clarity and confidence
  • Best practices for podcast workflows, organization, and publishing

What You’ll Need

  • A quiet space to record
  • A reliable laptop and internet
  • Willingness to follow training and ask questions
  • Ability to complete tasks independently with attention to detail
  • Comfort using checklists and learning new software

Important Dates

  • Coworking Week: August 15 (12-3pm)
    You and I will work together. You can come into the co-working space with me. Bring the laptop, headphones, and will spend 5 hours. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday together will go into the co-working space – not sure time yet but it’ll be by 9am.
  • Remaining August: 1 day/week – 7 hours (August 22nd, August 27th)
  • Hours per week: 6 hours
  • Total hours per month: 24 hours
  • Pay Days: August 30th, September 15… (middle and end of month)
